A mentor is someone with more entrepreneurial business experience than you,
probably in the same industry as you, who serves as a trusted confidante over an
extended period of time.
iforU cooperates with seasoned professionals of different business sectors (Mentors)
that provide their services pro bono to women entrepreneurs (Mentees)
that need support and guidance.
The Role of the Mentor
A mentor is there to share their wisdom, their mistakes and their successes, so that you can learn the lesson faster. Apart from their insights, expertise and knowledge on business matters, mentors, as established business people, are more than likely to have an extensive network they can offer you access to. Think of all the senior decision-makers you might gain access to!
It’s important to note that the Mentor doesn’t train, evaluate or interfere in the daily routine of the Mentee. Naturally, there’s something in it for mentors too! A true mentoring relationship works in both directions – they learn about new ideas from you just as you learn all you do from them.
The iforU Mentoring Program
The iforU team receives the applications of Mentors and Mentees and organizes pairing meetings so that each Mentee can meet and decide which Mentor suits her in order to start their cooperation.
The cooperation between Mentor and Mentee lasts for at least one year, monitored on a monthly basis by the iforU team. Usually the Mentor and Mentee communicate at least once a month in person or by phone or skype, etc.
